Royal Navy of Oman choses Chamois Metrology for calibration technician training

Chamois Metrology recently welcomed a group of five Royal Navy of Oman calibration technicians to their facility in Southam, Warwickshire, for a two week training course in pressure, temperature, electrical and dimensional calibration.

The company was approached in June of this year about providing a training programme for the calibration technicians between 9 and 20 July. Sales Director Jon Shan says that ‘Drawing on the vast experience of the Chamois Metrology team, we were able to put together a bespoke curriculum in a matter of days. As Chamois training courses are always bespoke, we were able to work with the client, prior to the group’s arrival, to develop a training curriculum that exactly met their needs.’

The first three days of the course covered the principles and practise of electrical and dimensional calibration, followed by pressure calibration. These training modules were led by Ged Roberts and Bradley Hemple – both seasoned calibration engineers and both UKAS signatories for the Chamois Metrology lab.

Week two kicked off with more pressure calibration, this time led by Chamois’ own calibration laboratory manager Adam Garthwaite. The course was rounded off with three days of temperature calibration training with Dave Ayres of Benrhos Ltd. Dave has had a long career in temperature calibration and product development.

Lead RNoO delegate Ibrahim Alawi wrote “We would like to express our deep thanks to you and your staff for the tremendous effort to train us”. Everyone involved took a lot from the experience. Chamois look forward to welcoming their next group of trainees.
